Kyokawa Night Gaze

Kyokawa (I'm not reallly sure what category to put this in, it's for Crazy-Dragon's contest . . . I suppose I'll just send it to her . . . )

Kyokawa, and yes, I've submitted some drawings of him before, but nothing done like this as I not only used watercolor pencils as well as my usual twistable colored pencils, and I messed with the background and contrast and brightness in photoshop (took ages, really,cause I'm so meticulus)

Kyokawa is the second son of a dragon who rules most of the eastern section of "The continent". His father and older brother are very military, his father ensures that the country advances mostly in technology and military power and their entire country keeps humans as slaves or pets (depends on the dragon) Kyo's older brother is quite dense and blindly follows their father, he doesn't like to think much and gets very angry if people don't explain
things to him.

Kyo, on the contrary, is exeptionally intelligent and loves to read and learn. His bad vision was considered an embarassment to the family and his father, in an effort to counter this, had metal plated welded onto Kyo to make him more formidable despite his bad eyesight. The platinng happened in stages so that Kyo could grow into them, as a teenager, he finnally got fed up with this and escaped, useing his talent for creating portals to travel to analternate universe where the native tribes had never seen a dragon before and had only very primitive technology. Kyoleft his hoouse to do this and another young dragon (named Bo) followed him through the protal. The natives concluded that Kyo and Bo were gods and, unable to convince them otherwise (not that Kyo had much incentive to try, though Bo is much more moral and didn't wish to deceive anyoone) they stayed there and were worshiped.
A while later, a she-dragon (most dragons are male; very few female dragons are still around because they were territorial more than the males (fighting among themselves to the death) and because they couldn't escape from humans while raising young or sitting on a nest) named Winona, passes through. She seemed highly suspicious of other dragons and traveled with one young human (Kyo and Bo don't know why, so I won't write why, but the why is in the story) She insists that she needs too keep moving, even though Bo and Kyo warn her of the dangers int he forest around the tribe they live with. Winona is attacked and Kyo (who really has a crush on her, but won't admit it and realizes that she is so distrusful of him) goes to rescue her, I won't tell you the rest.

This is the scene where Kyo is debating whether or not to follow Winona and sees the smoke from where shhe is being attacked (fire or elemental breathing dragon, that Winona is).

And there's a parade in the llittle town int he background, you see it?
