I wouldn't call you my idol
but I never want one
I go my own way
and I think you do too
You understand
as naturally as fish swim
I don't think I do,
But I know that
And why should anyone
mimic
someone else?
our lives are all separate rivers
charting unique courses
as they run
how cann we know now
if
we will need to be
silver minnows
or swordfish?
what good are identical fish
in the rivers of life?
A poem I wrote in creative writing class. We had to write a letter poem to someone (real or, as in this case, fictional)
and this one is better than the one everyone had to write to Han Schan (or however you spell his name). This was the one for homework (but I had time to do it in school) that was the official classwork, but I'm not posting that one because I dislike it.

Oh, the metaphors are all about fish for a reason. *snort* "swordfish", I love that pun!

K, if anyone thinks they know who it's about, post your guess in comments and I'll answer. No one could guess it in class.

God, there are only 4 people who have ever read this? Man that's pathetic . . .
